Excerpt: A simple, stress‑light path you can follow to turn your manuscript into a real book—in print and eBook.
Stage 1: Finalize the Manuscript
Developmental edit (structure, arc, pacing) → line edit → proofread.
Lock your final file before formatting.
Stage 2: Cover Design That Sells
Research 10 current covers in your genre. Note color trends and typography.
Ensure the title is readable at thumbnail size.
Get a full wrap for print (front, spine, back) and a separate eBook cover.
Stage 3: Format for eBook & Print
eBook: Clean headings, linked table of contents, no stray tabs/spaces.
Print: Choose trim size, set margins, line spacing, and page numbers; export print‑ready PDF.
Stage 4: Metadata & ISBNs
Title, subtitle, series name, keywords, categories, and a strong description.
Assign ISBNs for each print format. Keep a simple spreadsheet to track editions.
Stage 5: Upload & Proofs
Create retailer/distributor listings.
Upload interior and cover files.
Order a print proof to catch final typos and color shifts.
Stage 6: Launch Plan (Two Weeks Minimum)
Assets: Short author bio, book description, 3–5 quotes, cover mockups, sample chapter PDF.
Website: Book page with retailer links and a newsletter signup.
Content plan: 5–7 short posts (cover reveal, behind‑the‑scenes, first lines, early reviews).
Street team: A handful of readers who’ll share on launch day.
After Launch
Collect reviews ethically (invite your list, add a post‑script in your book).
Update your website with excerpts, awards, or new editions.
Keep writing—momentum matters more than perfection.
